Qadian, India: Derwaish Haji Manzoor Ahmad Waraich laid to rest in Bahishti Maqbra

Maulana Mohammad Inam Ghori Chief Secretary Ahmadiyya Jamaat led funeral Prayer

Qadian Derwaish Haji Manzoor Ahmad Waraich who passed away on May 1, 2015, at the age of 85 after a prolonged illness has been laid to rest in the Bahishti Maqbra (heavenly graveyard) here today.

A large number of Ahmadi Muslim and non-Muslim friends and associates attended the funeral services offered at the Bahishti Maqbra.

Maulana Mohammad Inaam Ghori, Chief Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, led the funeral prayer. After the deceased was buried in the special area reserved for "Derwaishan-E-Qadian" and the grave was closed, Maulana Ghori raised his hands and led the quietly watching somber congregation in silent prayer.

On this occasion many Hindu and Sikhs also attended the burial ceremony and took turns in lending their shoulders to carry the coffin to the grave-site.

Haji Manzoor Ahmad Waraich who hailed from Changria village in Sialkot district of current day Pakistan, came to Qadian during his teenage years for the protection of the holy places of Qadian at the time of Indo-Pak partition and he was one of the 313 individuals who stayed in Qadian for good and did not return to their hometowns.

Derwaish Waraich belonged to masonry trade and his expertise were put to use when Minaratul Masih marble fixing work was proposed but there were no means to lift the marble to the top of the minaret.

Derwaish Waraich suggested a particular technique to lift the marble stone with jute rope  and his experiment was very successful. The Minaratul Masih Marble was fixed without any problem.
