Ghana: Ahmadiyya Hospital gets new medical equipment


The Ameer commended the doctors, nurses and para-medical staff of the hospital for their co-operation and unity that had lifted the image of the facility.

Alhaji Mauvi Nuhu Mohammed Bin Salih, Ameer and Missionary In-charge of Alhmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, has commissioned new equipment for the Ahmadiyya Hospital at Agona Swedru.

The equipment included chemistry Analyzer, Hematology Analyzer, Olympus Microscope, Centrifuge, Hemoglobin Meter, Electro Cardiograph machine, Ultrasound Scan machine provided by the Alhmadiyya Muslim Mission.

The Ameer also commissioned a refurbished a maternity ward and laboratory for the hospital.

Earlier, Alhaji Mauvi Bin Salih and his entourage inspected various wards included Female, Male, Theater, Recovery, Children, Medical Store, Pharmacy, OPD and others.

Speaking at the commissioning, Mauvi Salih urged the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to post more health workers to the hospital to help provide quality health delivery services.

He said the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission was ever prepared to provide modern medical equipment, and to also expand structures at their hospitals, especially in the Central Region.

The Ameer commended the doctors, nurses and para-medical staff of the hospital for their co-operation and unity that had lifted the image of the facility.

He gave the assurance that the equipment would boost service at the hospital which was a referral one in the Agona West Municipality and beyond.

Dr Khan Rafi Sahibzada, Medical Officer in-charge of the Agona Swedru Ahmadiyya Hospital, said the motto of the workers: “Service with Smile,” a positive change towards patients, has encouraged more patients to patronize the facility.

He said the laboratory provides instant results to patients.

Dr Khan said the maternity ward previously recorded only two deliveries in a month, but now it can register 26 deliveries in a month.

Dr Nii Adjei Adjetey, Agona West Municipal Director of Health Services disclosed that the Agona Swedru Hospital would post three new midwives to the hospital to improve health delivery, adding that the improvement of equipment would reduce the pressure on the Agona Swedru hospital.

Mr Ibrahim Saaka, Deputy Co-ordinating Director of the Agona West Municipal Assembly, gave the assurance that the hospital's petition to the Assembly on noise making by some drinking bar operators, was receiving the necessary attention.
