OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The terror attacks in Paris have left many in our nation on edge, as they worry about possible violence here at home. But a Muslim community in Oshkosh says they are just as upset by the bloodshed, as Christians around the world.
Inside this mosque a Muslim community aches - angry over the bloodshed in Paris - caused by ISIS terrorists. Hoping there is no backlash against them because of the radical group's actions.
"There are always factions with any religion that try to hijack the given religion," said Khurram Ahmad, president of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Monday Ahmad released a statement condemning the attacks - saying his members reject terrorism in any form.
"Loyalty to the country, peace as a message, these are our core messages we want people to know us by," said Ahmad.
Still this violence has put the nation on edge. During a moment of silence before the Packers game on Sunday a fan shouted out a slur against Muslims, prompting this reaction from Aaron Rodgers.
"It's that kind of prejudicial ideology that puts us in the position we are in today as a world," said the Packer quarterback.
Meanwhile at least 15 governors, including Wisconsin's Scott Walker - say they won't accept Syrian refugees as proposed by the White House, until Homeland Security reviews procedures.
"This is to be prudent, to make sure that some terrorist elements are not coming into our country," said Gov. Rick Snyder (R-Michigan).
A decision President Obama questioned today - one perhaps based more on fear than fact.
"When I hear folks say we should just admit the Christians and not Muslims that's shameful," said Obama. "That's not American. That's not who we are."
At the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, members want all to know exactly who they are - Muslims that reject terrorism and who ache for the lives lost.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is in 206 countries and has tens of millions of members. .
