USA: Chino's Baitul Hameed Mosque to hold vigil today for San Bernardino mass shooting victims

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's Baitul Hameed Mosque, located in Inland Empire area of Southern California, is only about 30 miles from the scene of mass shooting at a disabilities services facility in the city of San Bernadino yesterday that has left the entire community stunned.

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Inland Empire and Los Angeles East chapters will hold a vigil at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, December 3rd., to remember the victims and their families at the Baitul Hameed Mosque, located at 11941 Ramona Avenue in Chino.

Asim Ansari, the president of the community's Inland Empire chapter expressed deep shock over the mass shooting which happened to occur only a few blocks from his work. "These are totally senseless killings and too many innocent people have been hurt in this."

"We must speak out to reject this atrocity with our loudest possible voice," Ansari expressed.

The president of the community's Los Angeles East chapter, Dr Ahsan Khan, also expressed shock and sadness about the tragedy which has been reportedly carried out by a Muslim couple. "We condemn this senseless and horrific act of violence in the strongest possible terms."

"Our community has been in San Bernardino County for nearly three decades, and yet have never seen such depravity. Our hearts go out to the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with them as their neighbors and brothers and sisters in peace," Khan continued, according to NBC 4 news.
