Sri Lanka: Quran Sinhala Translation presented to FM Radio Channel Head


The Jama’at delegation took part on invitation to invoke blessings on the function, representing Islam.  Religious dignitaries representing Christianity and Buddhism also attended the function.

A two member delegation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Sri Lanka (AMJSL) comprising A. Abdul Aziz, Nat'l Director Faith Outreach AMJSL, and Moulavi K.M. Muneer Ahmad , Missionary Pasyala - AMJSL had the opportunity to take part at the ceremony held to mark the 8th Anniversary of local FM Radio – SETH FM – covering 25 miles dimension from Negombo. The event took place on 28 December, 2015 at Negombo and aired LIVE.

The Jama’at delegation took part on invitation to invoke blessings on the function, representing Islam. Religious dignitaries representing Christianity and Buddhism also attended the function.

In his short address, Moulavi Muner Ahmad took the opportunity to highlight the launch of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation by Sri Lanka Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to mark the Centenary of the Establishment of the Community in Sri Lanka and informed the audience about the gift of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation to the President of Sri Lanka recently.

Moreover, two member Jama’at delegation comprising Abdul Aziz, Nat'l Director Faith Outreach AMJSL, and Moulavi A.B. Musthaq Ahmad, Chief Missionary, AMJSL, visited the Head Office of the Buddhist Cultural Center (BCC) in Colombo on 17 December 2015 and met the Coordinating Officer Mr. Sernveratne with prior approval. High level Buddhist Monk from BCC requested Jama’at delegation to visit their Head Office for the purpose of gifting Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation.

Mr. Senveratne welcomed the delegation and showed interest to know about the current state of Islam and he said that he is well aware of the reason for such a condition in which religion of Islam going through. He accepted that the teachings of Islam are not allowing anyone to act of violence in any form. He was very much pleased to know about Ahmadiyya Jama’at delegation met Top Buddhist clergies in Kandy to gift Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation. Mr. Senveratne said that all religions teach love and added that Lord Buddha emphasized on this.

Along with the copy of the Sinhala Translation of the Holy Qur’an, Peace Messages in English as well as Sinhala and the Sinhala Translation of the book ‘The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam’ written by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam ahmad – Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community were presented.
