ATLANTA (CBS46) - Several traditional Muslim prayer services are scheduled across the state to honor the life of Muhammad Ali, who died June 3 at the age of 74.

Ali has deep roots in Atlanta.

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community knew him as a young man. In fact, several scholars tutored him and over the weekend, members of the Muslim community shared their thoughts on Ali's passing to CBS46 News.

"I was very saddened because he was not very old," said Nafis Ur Rehman, Regional Director of Faith Outreach. "I was hoping he would get better. We have visited him and he has come to our mosque in front of the congregation."
