Perspective: Terrorism doesn’t discriminate | Ahsan M. Khan

This is a jarring reminder that these terrorists who profess to be Muslim are in fact Islam’s biggest threat. They do not discriminate in their wanton destruction of humanity. They do not represent true Islam.

On Monday, I woke to read the tragic news that a terrorist blew himself up in Medina, near the Prophet’s Mosque (considered the second holiest site in Islam after Mecca) and during Ramadan, the holiest month in Islam, no less.

This is a jarring reminder that these terrorists who profess to be Muslim are in fact Islam’s biggest threat. They do not discriminate in their wanton destruction of humanity. They do not represent true Islam.

Muslims must unite to counter this threat, and we join hands with others in faith to help us in this ideological battle.
