USA: Imam Zafrullah Hanjra of Chino leads prayers at Peace Prayer Walk


Imam Zafarullah Hanjra from Ahmadiyya Muslim Community led the prayers for the victims and their families and spoke about economic peace, the need for peace at home and individual inner peace to curb the violence.

A Muslim delegation led by Imam Muhammad Zafarullah Hanjra of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's Baitul Hamid Mosque in Chino, California participated in “Common Ground for Peace Prayer Walk – organized by “Inland Congregations United for Change (ICUC)” on July 21st, 2016, in San Bernardino, California.

The purpose of the walk was for awareness to curb the violence and killing going around in the community and to instill the peaceful teachings of the religion and how to get this inner peace to stay away from all kinds of violence.

The walk started from Life Center Church at 5:10 PM and was welcome by Kesha Mcgee, Rev. Norman Copeland welcome all the attendees.

This march was extensively covered by the Media, and many city officials including San Bernardino Mayor, Hon. R Carey Davis, joined the walk.

Imam Zafarullah Hanjra from Ahmadiyya Muslim Community led the prayers for the victims and their families and spoke about economic peace, the need for peace at home and individual inner peace to curb the violence.

On the route of the walk “Muslims for Peace,” flyer distribution was led by Rehman Abdul Aleem who was one of the most vibrant participants of the walk.

Imam Hanjra's prayers and the distribution of the  peace flyers were the touching point for all the attendees and also for the local community members.

Prayers were also said by Pastor Frank Bell of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Rafael Delgado from St Anthony’s Catholic Parish, Pastor Rick Alanis Jr. from Victory Outreach San Bernardino and Bishop Phillip Powel from The Centre Church.
