Ahmadiyya Muslim Women's Association commends RCMP decision to uphold the freedom of expression

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association Canada strongly supports the recent decision of the RCMP permitting women to wear the Hijab as part of the uniform. It is uplifting and powerful to see that the RCMP continues to be a progressive police service that respects all cultures and religions.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at appreciates Canada for being a leader in promoting inclusive work environments. Canadian leadership is a shining example for the world for upholding the freedom of conscience and expression.

In the words of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, “In Canada, can we speak of acceptance, openness, friendship, understanding? It is about where we are going and what we are going through every day in our diverse and rich communities.”

Mrs. Amtul Noor Daud, National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association said, “We applaud the RCMP for upholding freedom of expression and allowing Muslim women to wear the Hijab. We are extremely grateful that, as Canadians, we live in such a great country that respects people of all cultures and religions.”
