Ghana's Sunni Chief Imam attends Jalsa Salana UK; endorses Ahmadiyya Islam work


Imam Sharubutu addressed the convention on the second day and delivered his message of goodwill to the Khalifa of Islam, His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad.

Ghana's National Chief Imam traveled to the UK to participate in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's 50th Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) being held in Alton this weekend.

Dr Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, who is the National Chief Imam of Ghana since 1993 and a Sunni Muslim by practice, is attending the convention in his official capacity.

Imam Sharubutu addressed the convention on the second day and delivered his message of goodwill to the Khalifa of Islam, His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad.

Dr. Sharubutu credited His Holiness' leadership and praised the community for its social services in the fields of education, health, and interfaith progress.

93-year old Imam said he has always relied upon the worthy advice and counsel from his Ahmadiyya Muslim counterpart, Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, the head of Ahmadiyya Community in Ghana.

Dr. Sharubutu acknowledged also his personal friendship with late Dr Wahab Adam, former Ameer of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at in Ghana.
