Perspective: Terrorists aren't true Muslims | Arsalan Khan

Just as KKK members are labelled racists and bigots and not "Christian racists" so should extremists be called terrorists not “Muslim terrorists."

As a member of the Islamic faith and a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, my deepest condolences to all those affected by the Bastille Day attack in Nice, France. I stand with the people of France and pray for the speedy recovery of the wounded and for justice to be served.

To describe this act of terrorism as Islamic or Jihadist is offensive to a religion followed by more than 1.6 billion people. No one has any issues differentiating between Christians and KKK, so why can we not differentiate between Islam and ISIS? Just as KKK members are labelled racists and bigots and not "Christian racists" so should extremists be called terrorists not “Muslim terrorists."

If we look into the personal character of these said “Muslim” terrorists we find that they don’t have any clue about the religion and its teachings as we found out that the Nice attacker never prayed, drank alcohol, ate pork, abused his wife and never went to the mosque. After living his entire life with complete contradiction with Islamic teachings how can he be considered a representative of the religion after a murderous rampage?
