Many would relish having coffee and cake in a comfortable and cozy environment. Add to the mix, a heart-warming and friendly conversation about various current issues and it may make the ideal Fall evenings for some.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Metro Detroit is launching an open house “Coffee, Cake and True Islam” on every Thursday at their Community Center in Rochester Hills between 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Coffee, Cake and True Islam will be an ongoing weekly event for an informal and candid conversation about Islam and will be held every Thursday intended for neighbors, academia, students, media and anyone else interested in learning about the faith from its followers.

No doubt we get to hear a lot about the religion of Islam from the media - unfortunately mostly in a negative light. However, the casual setting of these ongoing events is intended to give anyone curious enough the opportunity to meet local Muslims and hear firsthand what exactly Islam's true teachings. All questions are welcome and will be addressed in an informal environment over a free cup of coffee and cake. These events will hopefully prove to be indeed a food for thought.

The goal of the gathering is to create an environment where people can freely question and express their understanding of Islam and also meet local Muslims.

Join us for a warm cup of coffee, cake, and some engaging conversation. Events are free and open to the public.

Please review details of the event below and if you have any further questions please contact the organizers at the email address below.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans more than 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is among the first American-Muslim organizations.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long- awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India.
Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad.

The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace.

Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.
