This weekend, thousands of Muslims and non-Muslims from across the country will travel to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for the 69th annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA. The founder of the community, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, stated that this is no ordinary convention, and he was right.

This three-day event will feature talks and presentations from religious leaders, scholars and elected officials from across the nation. The purpose of this unique convention is to convey the true face of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad as a champion of peace, justice and service to humanity.

I cannot think of any other event with such an invigorating atmosphere full of love that justly trumps hate of any kind. One look at the sea of thousands of pious souls raising slogans in appreciation of their faith and country is a sight to behold. We live in a global village, and I truly feel like I'm part of the peaceful world that everyone so desires.

Forget about your background, political or religious affiliation, age, weight, gender, etc. The only requirement to attend this convention is to have a big and open heart ready to soak in the knowledge and love.

It is almost impossible to put into words the benefit of attending such an event. One has to experience it. But if you cannot attend in person, you can watch live at mtausa.org.
