Germany: Balingen Ahmadiyyas join "Nationwide Day of the Open Mosque"


The prayers are said by Iman in two languages: Urdu and German. But the young people are still only praying in German. Around 15 people regularly participate in the prayers.

Members of the Ahmadiyya community have set up infotainers and laid out books.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat also took part in the annual "Nationwide Day of the Open Mosque" in Balingen . In the rooms on the Geislinger Strasse the community members were open for talks.

Balingen. "Our premises are open every day, but on this very special day, we want to talk to people and give each other the opportunity to get to know each other," said the youth leader and the interreligious dialogue at Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Balingen, Mansoor Ahmad, at the participation of his community in the nationwide action.

Information on the Holy Places of Islam, the Holy Prophet Muhammad, Islam and Science, the Koran and the relationship between Goethe and Islam were presented. An infotain was also devoted to the term "jihad", which according to the organizer should not be translated with holy war, but with "An effort on the way of God".

In a separate section, the female community members were also available for questions on women in Islam in particular. On the information board, visitors learned that Islam was based on the equality of the sexes. According to the Holy Koran, the woman has the same political and social rights as the man. "We women meet us in one of the men's divisions, on a Friday prayer, and once or twice a month, exchanging with each other, talking about the foundations of our religion, " Noreen Sadat explained.

"Spatially we reach our limits, we are looking for something bigger, but it is difficult to find something suitable," he says. About 60 believers celebrate together at the sacrificial and sugar festival. Then the Ahmadiyya community must evade halls in the city area. "This always works out very well", Ahmad is pleased about the good cooperation with the Balinese city administration.
