The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire was a guest at a recent charity dinner held by the Yorkshire Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association.

David Dinmore, pictured, along with representatives from 20 charities and community groups, attended the dinner in aid of the Charity Walk for Peace in aid of local charities.

At the dinner, Arif Ahmad from Charity Walks thanked the gathered guests and charities for attending the dinner, and was followed by Rafi Ahmad from the organisation who talked about the work Charity Walks carries out in West Yorkshire and across the UK.

Mr Dinmore then spoke about the importance of different communities working together to promote good, and promote community cohesion.

Some charities also spoke about how the money raised has helped them, and cheques totalling £4,500 were present to five charities in attendance.
