Preston UK Jamaat Ansarullah and Lajna Imaillah jointly organised a Tabligh event with a speaker and an exhibition attended by 10 guests including the city’s Mayor on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

Tabligh Secretary David Callaghan gave an introduction, explaining the purpose of the event at the Quakers Meeting House in Preston was to bring communities together in peace, and to describe the true meaning of Islam.

Imam Sahib Shahil Munir Ahmed from Liverpool Jamaat (community) spoke about the qualities of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), and answered questions on different subjects including Jihad, the origins of Islam-Ahmadiyya and conscientious objectors.

A cheque presentation was made to the Mayor of Preston Councillor Trevor Hart by Preston Jamaat President Mr Daud Pir towards the Mayor’s charity collection, Headway Preston for the victims of brain injury.

Exhibitions organised by Preston Lajna with the themes of ‘Women in Islam’, the charity work of the Preston Jamaat and ‘Myth busters’ about Islam were enjoyed by the guests.

A range of tasty refreshments were enjoyed by the guests, and as a thank-you gesture for attending an attractive gift bag was given to each guest containing chocolates along with Jamaat books and literature.
