To honor the victims of 9/11 at the upcoming 10th anniversary, the oldest Muslim organization in the United States is launching "Muslims for Life" campaign on Thursday, Sept. 1, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
This nationwide campaign is being held by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA in solemn remembrance of the lives lost 10 years ago. All 71 chapters of our community in 50 cities will host blood drives during the month of September, with the goal of collecting 10,000 bags of blood that can save as many as 30,000 lives.
The community is partnering with numerous other community and religious groups, including the American Red Cross, America's Blood Centers and many other Muslim and non-Muslim organizations.
So far, 202 blood drives have been scheduled in September, and more are being added every day.
Two of the blood drives are scheduled on Capitol Hill.
Muslims for Life is a unique effort that we hope will encourage all Americans, including Muslims, to reflect and serve their country. You can learn more about the campaign at http://MuslimsforLife.org.
