Pakistan: Woman stoned to death on panchayat’s orders for use of mobile phone
The mother of two, Arifa Bibi, was stoned to death by her uncle and relatives at the orders of a pancahayat, a local political and justice system, when she was found using a cell phone, her two cousins told a local television.

DERA GHAZI KHAN - A woman was stoned to death in a village in Dera Ghazi Khan region after a panchayat held her guilty upon finding a cellular phone from her possession.
The mother of two, Arifa Bibi, was stoned to death by her uncle and relatives at the orders of a pancahayat, a local political and justice system, when she was found using a cell phone, her two cousins told a local television.
‘’She was buried without informing her other relatives,’’ her cousins said.
Police registered an FIR against three members of the panchayat, but no one had been arrested so far.
