A MUSLIM community group is holding an exhibition and giving away free books in Keighley Library.

The Keighley Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association is staging its latest annual exhibition in the library to counter the inflammatory actions of extremists.

The initiative includes an information display and a pair of books on offer free of charge to the public.

One of the books is about the life and character of the prophet Mohammed, while the other is a collection of letters by the caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Aziz Rahman, leader of Keighley's Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association, said: "In line with our ongoing commitment to peace and understanding we felt it appropriate to offer members of the public the opportunity to study the life and character of the holy founder of Islam, especially in the current climate where there is so much misinformation about Islam put out by extremists as well as by opportunists attacking Islam."

Members of the public wanting either book can either visit the exhibition or can e-mail Keighley@ahmadiyya.org.uk to request copies.
