Taliban militants flog two men and a teenage boy in a video that emerged from the tribal areas, showing the insurgents still holding some pockets in the FATA areas, where the hostage crowds for fear of their lives keep watching the tyranny as mute spectators.
Despite Army offensives and intensified US missile strikes in the region, it seems there are still some hideouts left intact, where the Taliban militants taking hostage of the local residents keep perpetrating all sorts of brutal inhuman operations in the name of morality and violations of their set rules of primitive life, which they unabashedly project as ‘true’ Islam.
The video was shot on a mobile phone on February 3 and passed to a local journalist, who occasionally provides video to the Associated Press Television News. The man, who provided the clip, said it was taken in the Mamozai area of the Orakzai Agency.
The Taliban are known to beat people in areas they control if they are suspected of criminal acts or spying. People accused of serious crimes are often reportedly killed. Using a piece of rope or leather, a militant repeatedly strikes a man who wears trousers but no shirt.
The provider of the footage said the man was being punished for “working against the Taliban” by speaking out against them. The second victim, a teenage boy, who the tribal elder said, was being blamed for not growing a beard, while the third victim was punished for not praying.
A crowd under the shadow of gun toting militants helplessly watched the beatings in silence. The tribal elder identified the militant doing the beating as 'Mullah Noor Jamal known as Mullah Toofan (Tornado), who has reportedly been appointed as new chief of defunct Tehrik-i -Taliban Pakistan after the death of Mullah Hakeem ullah in US suspected drone attack.
