Members of the public could see ‘Love For All Hatred For None’ advertisements on buses travelling through the town and district.
And youngsters from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association youth group in Keighley have been delivering leaflets through doors, in a bid to halt the spread of Islamophobia, which is reportedly at an all-time high.
Rafiq Hayat, national president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK, running the grassroots campaign, said: “The true peaceful Islam is poles apart from the hatred that is preached by a minority.
“Such extremists do not represent Islam, yet, through the media, their words and deeds have a damaging impact on Muslims and non-Muslims every day.
“By emphasising the values highlighted in this campaign, we hope to facilitate a better understanding of Islam so that people are able to judge for themselves the actions of those who claim to speak and act in its good name. Islam stresses the promotion of peace in words and deeds.”
Throughout the country nearly three million households will be called on to highlight the Muslim values of peace, freedom, loyalty, equality and respect.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim community has 160 million followers in 95 countries. For more information visit LoveForAllHatredForNone.org.
