UK: Ahmadiyya Muslim Community condemns extremist Muslims' anti-patriot act at Hyde Park

“This was a very sad incident that will have caused deep pain and regret to all decent and tolerant people. These protesters are happy to receive British citizenship and all the benefits and freedoms that go along with it and yet on the other hand they fail to respect or show any decency towards the people of this country."

"A fundamental teaching of Islam is to show loyalty to your nation," the Ahmadiyya press statement was titled with today.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK immediately rose to condemn the anti-patriot acts carried out by a small group of Muslim fanatics in Hyde Parke London today.

"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat hereby condemns absolutely reports that a small number of so-called Muslims gathered in Hyde Park on Remembrance Day and raised anti-UK slogans and burned a poppy, the the Ahgmadiyya Muslim press relraese read.

Poppy "acts as a symbol of the sacrifices made by those who lost their lives during the war," the statement further asserted.

Ahmadiyya Muslim community says that Muslims who live in the UK or in any other country have a religious and moral duty to show complete loyalty to their nation and this includes a respect for those who have lost their lives trying to protect their country.


According to the press release, Abid Khan, the Press Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat said:
“This was a very sad incident that will have caused deep pain and regret to all decent and tolerant people. These protesters are happy to receive British citizenship and all the benefits and freedoms that go along with it and yet on the other hand they fail to respect or show any decency towards the people of this country. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat condemns this act in the strongest terms. A fundamental teaching of Islam is to show loyalty to your nation and thus such acts are nothing to do with the religion.”

The statement wen on to address the barbaric killing of Christians in Iraq where a Church was attached recently.

"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat also condemns in the strongest terms recent attacks on the Christian community in Iraq. Any form of terrorism or extremism must be condemned in the very strongest terms and is categorically rejected by the teachings of Islam," said the press release.

"The Holy Qur’an specifically instructs Muslims to protect the places of worship of all other religions and it invokes that all men and women have a right to religious freedom."

The release further read:
"Thus the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat extends its heartfelt condolences to all of those who have been directly affected by these attacks and indeed to the wider Christian community. We pray for those left bereaved that may God grant them patience during these very difficult times."
