Sierra Leone: President Koroma hails Ahmadiyya social services

President Koroma has blown out commendation to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Sierra Leone for their immense contribution towards national development in the area of education, health, energy and other development related issues.

Declaring the 50th Annual Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat open in Bo over the weekend, President Koroma said that every Sierra Leonean should appreciate the great effort of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat because of the fact that the Jamaat has yielded to the command made by the Almighty Allah that we should get ourselves educated and spread the message of God.


He pointed out that through the establishment of schools by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat from 1938 to now, “we have got people that have served the country in various capacities up to the level of Vice President.”

The President reiterated that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat is working towards the Agenda for Change, and therefore congratulated the Jamaat for organizing such a wonderful conference. He said that as Sierra Leoneans we should be proud of our religious tolerance in the country and we should be also proud of ourselves as a nation of great believers. He urged the Jamaat to continue their good work and as a government they are willing to work with the Jamaat.

The special guest from the Headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Mission who represented the supreme head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Mubarak Ahmad Nzir Shabib, in presenting the message of the head of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat World Wide, said that the head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Mirza Masroor Ahmad was pleased that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat is holding its 50th Annual Conference (Jalsa Salana), in which he described the event as a significant and blessed landmark in the history of the Sierra Leone Jamaat. He added that Ahmadis all over the world have great affection for the Sierra Leone Jamaat and therefore urged the Jamaat to endeavour to maintain their high standards and continue to set good examples of kindness, honesty, integrity, and above all pity and righteousness.

The Amir and Missionary in Charge of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat in Sierra Leone Saeed Ur Rahman in welcoming all present at the ceremony commended President Koroma for his achievements both national and international. He urged all to know that the Jamaat is a law abiding and simple organization and they shall continue to contribute towards the national development of the country.

Alhaji U.N.S. Jah congratulated the Amir for the composition of those he invited at the conference. He advised all not to use religion for destruction and noted that religious tolerance has to be promoted by constant dialogue to promote changes and enhance development of the country.
