Indonesia: 'No Decree for Ahmadiyah' | Gov. Fauzi:

...[E]very problems related to environmental security, peace and harmony are municipality responsibility. However, problems related to religion is not municipality responsibility, but chief delegates it to local government, central government by Religion Ministry.

Jakarta Municipality will not follow East Java and West Java Municipality which inaugurate restriction of Ahmadiyah activity. Jakarta Municipality had decided to obey joint Decree (SKB) three ministers and attorneys and also urge by Law Political Coordinator Ministry and human Rights (HAM), Djoko Suyanto which stated, Ahmadiyah disbanded should be review deeply and discuss it comprehensively, holistic and substantive.

Jakarta Governor, Fauzi Bowo stated, Menkopolhukam`s advice should be obeyed by all Region Government. “It is clear, no regional decree or any decree against constitution,” stated Fauzi Bowo at City Hall, Monday (3/7).

Fauzi continued, his officials have coordinated with related agency.
According to him, anything needed to ensure security, discipline, concordance and harmony of Jakarta’s environment which written on three minister SKB. “The SKB needs to understand in detail and clearly by stakeholders include officers in field. So, we will ordered them to socialize it.” he added.

He confirmed, every problems related to environmental security, peace and harmony are municipality responsibility. However, problems related to religion is not municipality responsibility, but chief delegates it to local government, central government by Religion Ministry.
