The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Youth wing Lagos State, the Majlis Khudammul Ahmadiyya, is organising a gubernatorial debate among the gubernatorial candidates of political parties in the April elections in  Nigeria.

The  organisation’s  President, Ola Omopariola Abdul-Ganiyy, said in a statement in Lagos that the event, slated for Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Eko FM/Radio Lagos Multipurpose hall, Agidingbi, Ikeja, by 12 noon, was  meant to provide a level playing field for  gubernatorial candidates to showcase their manifestos and discuss sustainable way of achieving their programmes towards improving the lives of Lagosians.

According to him, the debate would also provide a credible platform for the electorate to assess the candidates and ask constructive questions.

It will be recalled that during the 2007 general  election, the Ahmadiyya youths organised a similar debate, which attracted all the contestants and afforded the electorate to take an informed choice and eventually influence their voting  pattern.
