Pakistan Christian Congress to nominate Salman Taseer for Noble Peace Prize
Salman Taseer was only leader who visited Asia Bibi in jail with his family and openly condemned misuse of blasphemy law in Pakistan.

Karachi: The Central Council of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC announced here today that PCC will nominate Salman Taseer for Nobel Peace Prize 2012 on his services for peace, tolerance and harmony in Pakistan among different religious communities.
Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said in a statement that PCC will formally dispatch nomination letter of Salman Taseer to Committee of Nobel Peace Prize and will write to heads of member states of General Assembly of United Nations to second PCC nomination.
Governor Salman Taseer was gunned downed by his bodyguard in Islamabad on his visit to blasphemy accused Christian woman Asia Bibi in Sheikhupura jail and his campaign to seek pardon on her death sentence.
Salman Taseer was only leader who visited Asia Bibi in jail with his family and openly condemned misuse of blasphemy law in Pakistan.
There was not any Christian or Muslim leader in Pakistan who paid any visit to Asia Bibi in jail on fear of life but only Salman Taseer.
Nazir Bhatti said that Salman Taseer was true activist to promote peace and religious harmony and his services will be ever remembered by persecuted Christians in Pakistan.
Pakistan Christian Congress PCC urged Civil Society activists to write Nobel Peace Prize Committee for Nobel Peace Prize for Salman Taseer.
