Kotli (AJK): A Prominent surgeon Dr. Shah Mohammad of Kotli, Azad Kashmir and his young son have mysteriously gone missing, it was reported.
According to Kotli News, an Urdu newspaper, the local city police station of Kotli has launched a kidnapping case and the search is underway.
Dr Shah and his 11 years old son Fawad Ahmad had returned home around 10:30pm after a visit to the in-laws and their whereabouts have been unknown afterward, it was learned.
Dr. Shah’s automobile was later found abandoned on motorway near Deena.
Dr Shah Mohammad -who is an Ahmadī Muslim - is a well respected medical professional and operates his clinic, Shah Mohammad Surgical Complex, in downtown Kotli.
According to the Deena police station, a kidnapping complaint has been registered against unknown persons and an investigation has started.
The news traveled quickly throughout the area and according to unconfirmed reports many suspect the kidnapping may have been due to the victim's Ahmadī faith.
Dr.Shah was due to travel abroad the same evening, it was further learned.
Dr. Shah, an office holder and local leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Kotli, has been a target of threats to his life and property by the extremist Mullahs of the area.
A written threat, reported in 2003, read as following [TherPersecution]:
"O Progeny of the English, Follower of Satan, Worst Infidel, Dr. Shah Muhammad
"Enough of your dissemination of dogma of disbelief in Kotli territory. If you do not put an end to entice simple and poor Muslims with your wealth, be mindful of our ways. Even America acknowledges our terror. The servants of Muhammad of Arabia p.b.u.h. will not permit you to preach your creed in our country where Muslims are in majority - (you have no right) to even stay alive here. I tell you, if you object to being called a kafir (an infidel), come to the Shaheed Chowk, Kotli and declare Mirza Ghulam Ahmad a liar and Evil (sic). Your Mirza Masroor, by avoiding to accept a prayer duel, accepted that you preach Qadianism merely for self-interest. Therefore, firstly, accept Islam and make a clear statement to that effect, or otherwise be prepared for your woeful extermination.
"An unknown lover of the Prophet Muhammad of Arabia, pbuh.
"It is clear that we are flowers as well as the sword for the world. We shall not rest till Mirzais (Ahmadis) are exterminated or (we) are drenched in blood."
