MORE than 400 people from across the country converged in Cranbourne for an exhibition aimed at opening the mind to the Koran.
A visual treat for the eyes, the exhibition, organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association of Victoria, was held at Chisholm Cranbourne on December 3.
Organiser Naureen Chaudhry said more than 400 visitors including people from Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide attended the event.
“The Quran or Koran is the revered scripture for Muslims around the world that was revealed 1400 years ago,” Ms Chaudhry said.
“An introductory lecture that was presented twice during the exhibition highlighted the features of the Quran, focusing mainly on the history of its compilation and the Quran being the word of God.”
The exhibition included an art gallery, a display of translations of the Koran in various languages and items of jewellery with Koranic inscriptions.
“The exhibition was intended to draw crowds from all faiths, all ages and a wide spectrum of community members,’’ Ms Chaudhry said.
She said the association planned to take the exhibition to various venues to continue to work towards the objective of bringing people together on one platform to promote peace, tolerance and harmony.
