Swinder Singh, representing Gurdwara Sahib Kansas City, the Sikh temple in Shawnee, speaks on a panel during the Leadership Conference on Peace, held Nov. 20 in Overland Park.
Singh spoke of the importance of all religions and cited the teachings of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak, which include being loving and respectful to all people.
Playing host to the conference was the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which describes itself as an international organization of Muslims who believe in the advent of the messiah and are committed to spreading the message of peace.
The event was covered by the members of the media including the local NBC affiliate.
Interfaith conferences offer opportunity for people of different faiths to share and get to know each other.
