Chino, California: 450 attend “Life of Muhammad” event at Ahmadiyya Mosque in Chino

The Imam of the Chino Mosque, Shamshad A. Nasir, regional missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community's southwest region presented  Senator Negrete-McCloud with the book The Blessed Model of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).

An estimated 450 Ahmadi Muslim men, women and children, along with invited guests from the Sierra Leone, West African community, attended an event in honor of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet of Islam, may peace and blessings of God be upon him.

The three hour meeting was attended by California assembly senator Gloria Negrete-McCloud and a representative from the Sierra Leone Muslim community in Los Angeles as guest speakers.

The meeting began with recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by its English translation.

Opening remarks were given by the moderator, Mr. Muzaffar Siddiqui, who introduced the speakers during the event.

The first speech entitled “The High Moral Qualities of Prophet Muhammad” was delivered by an Ahmadi college student, Usman Muzaffar which was followed by a speech by Mr. Ramzan Jattala’s on the subject of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad regarding family values and the treatment of parents, children, relatives and neighbors.

Dr. Ahsan Khan of orange county spoke about the historical significance of the Treaty of Hudaibiyya which was signed in 628 AD after eighteen brutal years of persecution and warfare waged against the Muslims by the idolaters of Mecca and their allies.

Sierra Leone Muslim community representative Alpha Timbo spoke on the inspiring example of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. Mr. Timbo explained  the Holy Prophet Muhammad came not just for the Muslims but for all mankind.

California state assembly Senator Gloria Negrete McCloud (D-32nd District) then briefly addressed the audience, thanking the organizers for inviting her to experience the annual remembrance and celebration of the life, teachings and example of Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam

The Imam of the Chino Mosque, Shamshad A. Nasir, regional missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community's southwest region presented  Senator Negrete-McCloud with the book The Blessed Model of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).

The book which was written to refute common misconceptions and false representations about the life and character of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) by opponents of Islam is authored by Khalifa of Islam, His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masrror Ahmad spiritual leader of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Imam Shamshad Nasir gave the closing remarks highlighting the importance of not just listening to the inspiring examples in the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet, but in striving daily to embody those examples and teachings to present the true picture of peaceful Islam to the world.

Commenting on the frequent negative and demeaning depictions of the Prophet Muhammad by anti-Islam speakers and writers around the world the Imam reminded the audience that prophets sent to reform people are always met with opposition, persecution and violence.

Imam Shamshad finished the meeting by leading the audience in a silent prayer in thanks for the blessings bestowed upon Muslims and the world by the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.

The Muslims then adjourned for their regular afternoon prayers and later joined the guests for lunch and additional conversation.
