A GROUP of Ahmadiyya Muslim teenagers will be out in force litter picking in the streets around their Halesowen mosque at the end of the month.

Members of the association’s youth section will clear rubbish from Long Lane, neighbouring streets and St Paul’s Church graveyard on Saturday June 30.

Councillor Jeff Hill, who is providing bags, litter pickers and protective gloves, said: "in the short time that they have been on Long Lane I am very pleased to see how much time and effort the Ahmadiyya Muslims are putting into the local community.

“Along with other groups they are making a massive positive difference to the area."

The meeting point will be at the Baitul Gafoor Mosque, the former Methodist Church in Long Lane at 7.30pm and other members of the community are invited to join in.
