The largest convention of Muslims in the UK is set to start on Friday, September 7, 2012 near Alton in Hampshire where the event organizers expect about 25,000 attendees from Great Britain and around the world.

The key programs during the convention, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community says, will include pledging loyalty to Britain, raising the Union Jack, and taking an oath to renounce violence and foster peace.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim community's famous slogan, 'Love for All, Hatred for None,' is now the key message at everyone of their gathering, and this convention is no exception.

The convention program released by the community through their national spokesperson, Dr. Basharat Nazir, states that the community will also announce plans for celebrating 100 years in Britain.

The highlights of the convention will be the addresses delivered by the Khalifa of Islam, His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.

The convention location, affectionately called Hadeeqa-tul Mehdi, is a 210 acre site known as Oakland Farm near Alton, a historic town in the East Hampshire district of the English county of Hampshire.

The event, also known as Jalsa Salana, will commence with Friday Sermon and Prayers.

However, the formal opening of Jalsa Salana will start with the hoisting of flags, including Union Jack, at 4:00 pm, followed by opening address by His Holiness, Hadhrat Ahmad.

Dr. Nazir says there will be several discussions forums to address various contemporary issues of the day at this traditionally huge tented village that rises out of English countryside for three days every year.

The attendees, 60% of whom are anticipated to be women and children, will be served free meals through out the event in large dining areas backed by a 'huge kitchens and roti (bread) plants.'
