The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Guatemala celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday, August 19, 2012.

According to the reports filed from Guatemala, the prayers began at 8:30 am.

Imam Abdul Sattar Khan, national  president and missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya community in Guatemala led the community in the mid-morning thanks-giving prayers and delivered the Eid Sermon.

Missionary Sattar Khan reminded members of the community to benefit from the lessons learned during the month of Ramadan.

The effort to train ourselves in righteousness, said Missionary Sattar Khan, is not for just this one month.

Rather, he said, it should help us throughout the year while we wait for the next blessed month of Ramadan.

A typical Guatemala dish of TAMAL was enjoyed by all as a thanks giving breakfast.

As part of the festivities, the Ahmadiyah members and dozens of non-Muslim guests enjoyed sports and games at the Ahmadiyya Mission grounds.

Lunch was served to all.

Missionary Abdul Sattar Khan and National Secretary David Gonzalez gave several talks to non-Ahmadi guests in different groups who had come to share the happiness.

Topics like trinity and Jesus in India were covered in the talks and the event offered an opportunity to spread the Ahmadiyya message of a peaceful Islam.
