The killing of drummer Lee Rigby has been described by a Northamptonshire Muslim group as an ‘atrocious act’.
Drummer Rigby, a soldier with 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment, was killed in Woolwich on May 22 shortly before two British Muslim converts were shot at the scene by police.
The killing has sparked anti-Islam demonstrations from some far right groups.
However The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Northamptonshire said the killing had nothing to do with the true teachings of Islam.
Dr Naveed Zafar, president of the Association said: “We strongly condemn the inhumane, violent and atrocious act committed by sick individuals.
“If one human is killed, then that murderer is a killer of the whole of humanity, and has no right or place in Islam.
“The Lord our creator has created every type of human and animal, black, white, Jew, Muslim or whoever; it is not up to individuals to try to create disharmony out of the perfection that God created.
“The community in Northampton, and indeed all over the UK in its 90 branches pray for Drummer Lee Rigby, and his family in this time of deep grief.
“We are very much committed to peace, our motto ‘love for all hatred for none’ resounds on the streets of Britain. We raise money every year for British Soldiers, and pound the streets for the poppy appeal and Help for Heroes.
