Students who study in schools with small rolls should not be discouraged.
Those are the words of Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, who was the chief guest at Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School’s prize giving ceremony in Labasa this morning.
This school has form three to form six and has a roll of 58 students.
Sayed-Khaiyum told the students not to think of themselves as anything less than bigger schools. He said the Education Ministry will be giving the same level of funding to all schools. According to Sayed-Khaiyum the school could pursue their focus on vocational training.
Meanwhile, head boy and Dux of the school, Monit Kumar said those students who have not won a prize this year should not lose hope.
Kumar said he wants to complete form 7 next year and want to become an accountant after completing his tertiary education.
