The 122nd International Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will start tomorrow, December 27, at its world headquarter in Qadian, Dist. Gurdaspur, at Ahmadiyya Grounds.
The convention’s inaugural session will start at 10 am.
More than twenty-five thousand Ahmadiyya Muslim delegates from all over the world and India will participate in this unique gathering, including about 5,000 devotees who arrived from neighboring Pakistan.
Thousands of visitors from different states of India, specially from Delhi, U.P., West Bengal, Kerala, Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Rajestan, Tamilnadu, Maharastra, Utranchal, Bihar, Chatisgadh, Jharkhand, Assam, Hariyana, Karnataka, M.P, and Odisha are taking part in this spiritual gathering.
Syed Tanvir Ahmad, President of press committee Ahmadiyya JamÄ’at, said that the foundation stone of this unique annual spiritual gathering was laid by the founder of the community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi in 1891. 75 persons had attended the first Jalsa Salana.
After very humble beginnings, Syed Tanvir Ahmad says, today this annaul convention is being conducted in all its branches, all over the world. “This unique spiritual gathering every year is a symbol of unity, love and universal brotherhood.”
By last count some 12,000 visitors from Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany England, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, , Holland, Ireland, Kuwait, Japan, Mauritius, Nepal, Pakistan, Saudi Arab, Singapore, Sweden, U.A.E, U.K, and U.S.A, have already arrived and thousands more are expected during the next 12-24 hours.
