Unity and equality were just words until Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. revolutionized these words and gave new meanings to them. Dr. King was a civil rights activist who spoke in such a way that it reached people’s hearts and minds at the same time. Whenever someone thinks of Martin Luther King Jr., they think of these words: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

Islam conveys the same message that Martin Luther King Jr. conveyed. Islam teaches equality for all regardless of race, color, ethnicity, or any other differentiation. Matter of fact, the Holy Prophet of Islam said, “God does not look upon your bodies and outward appearance but He looks at your heart.” We are all different, but that makes us unique, certainly not unequal.

It only took one man to change a nation. He had confidence, faith, and above all God to strengthen him. Now, imagine how it would be if we all worked together. This world would be different, and most definitely better.
