USA:Blood drive on Friday in Boston to honor Marathon victims


Muslims for Life, a nationwide interfaith blood drive initiative, has helped collect more than 33,000 pints of blood, potentially saving up to 100,000 lives, and honors those affected by terrorist attacks.

BOSTON - A Muslims for Life interfaith blood drive will be held at City Hall on Friday, April 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., to honor those affected by last year's Boston Marathon tragedy.

The blood drive is organized in partnership with the city of Boston and the Boston Athletic Association, and will benefit patients supported by Boston Children's Hospital Blood Donor Center and Kraft Family Blood Donor Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Muslims for Life, a nationwide interfaith blood drive initiative, has helped collect more than 33,000 pints of blood, potentially saving up to 100,000 lives, and honors those affected by the Sept. 11, 2001,  terrorist attacks and Boston Marathon bombings last year.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA has been hosting the Muslims for Life blood drive nationally since 2011.
