While the local police watched, Ahmadi houses are set on fire by a Islamist mob in People's Colony of Gujranwala town in the central Punjab, a Province of Pakistan.

The incident stated in the late evening on Sunday, July 27th.

According to Mr. Saleem-ud Din, the Ahmadiyya community representative in Pakistan, the fire truck responding to to the fire were turned back by the mob and the local police was keeping away all help from the burning structures.

A large contingent of police was unwilling to stop the violent mob and multiple houses were on fire as of the last reports.

"Pakistanis celebrate end of Ramadan by burning down Ahmadi houses," said Imarn Jattala, chief editor of Ahmadiyya Times, in a social media post.

Dr. Basharat Nazir, national spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in the UK, stated through his private Twitter account that the ultimate fault for the anti-Ahmadiyya crimes rest with the government of Pakistan.

"Pakistan govt continues to refuse that Ordinance XX makes Ahmadis a fair game for arson, murder, harassment anytime anywhere." wrote Dr. Nazir.

[Update] There is no confirmed information available yet as to the safety and security of the occupant of the houses on fire however unconfirmed reports say several women and children have sustained serious injuries and burns.

[Update] According to a report on locals TV channel, Samaa, a women and two children have died from the fires. A large Muslim mob was shown dancing in the streets while Ahmadi homes were being brunt and occupants killed.

[Update] According to a local source who spoke on condition of anonymity, police and media have inaccurately introduced the notion that there were clashes between Ahmadi and non-Ahmadi groups.

"These were attacks on Ahmadis, pure and simple, the source said. "And those who tried to protect themselves from beatings were termed as 'clashing.'"

"Reporters like Asad Kharal of Express Tribune made a liberal use of the word 'clashes' and insinuated that Ahmadis started it when they attacked some individuals who have come to protest about blasphemous materials posted on Facebook," the source further added.

Kamal went on to say that 7 Ahmadis who were injured, suffered so because they decided to "lock up themselves in their houses."

Tahir Imran, a BBC New Media Journalist & Social Media Producer for @BBCUrdu, reported that first Gujranwalla police DSP, Malik Afzal, "blatantly lied" that there were no attacks on Ahmadis at all.

"The DSP Poeple's Colony Malik Afzal termed the burning & ransacking of these houses as "protest on the road & burning few tires"," Tahir Imran posted in his Twitter timeline.

[Update] According to Ahmadiyya spokesperson, Mr. Saleem-ud Din, 3 Ahmadis have died from the fires and four other are critically injured. The dead are identified as 55 year old Bashiran Bibi, 7 year old Hira and her sister Kainat.

[Update] In a latest confirmation by the Ahmadiyya spokesperson, the death toll has now increased to 4 as an unborn baby died in her mothers womb due to suffocation and fire at their home. The miscarriage was suffered at the hospital where the pregnant woman was being treated for the injuries suffered due to the fire.

[Update] In a Twitter update, posted about 12:30 PM, Monday, July 28, 2014 (PKT),  Mr Saleem-ud Dim said that the Ahmadi women who had suffered a miscarriage earlier, is still in critical condition.

"Our #Ahmadi sister who lost her unborn baby is still fighting for her life & needs our special prayers," Mr Saleem-ud Din wrote

"In total eight homes belonging to Ahmadi Muslims were burnt by anti-Ahmadi extremists," the Ahmadiyya community has confirmed..

  8. It is a very sad news. Is it Islam? Narinder Modi Government is much better than Nawaz Sharf government. If we compare a Muslim state Vs Hindu state government, we will find justice in the Hindu State nor in the Muslim State. It is very shameful for Pakistsn.

    3. I do not support the killing.I just want to clearify that it is not much the fault of Gen.Zia.Gen.Zia was President of Muslim Republic of Pakistan where Islamic Govt. and Islamic rule must be prevailed. In his period Ahmadis or Qadinis hung the Qalma with their Prothet's name in place of Mohammad(P.B.U.H) which forced him to declare Ahmadis or Qadianis as non-muslims.The fact is that Ahmadis know that by saying blasphamy about Prophet, would stat riots in the country then why don't they refain from doing such acts.If Ahmadis would not be extremeists and fanatics then there would be no riots.
P.S: Indeed Gen.Zia did not declare Ahmadis as non-muslims those were Maulanas in that period who did and no doubt they did anything wrong.

  11. Where is Nawaz Sharif, Ch pervez Elahi, Tahir ul Qadri and Imran Khan? Why haven't they come forward and condemmed the attacks ? They are afraid of the mullahs and fear for their political credibility is the answer. As a Muslim and a human being i hang my head in shame and pray for the departed souls and that Allah's wrath may be on the muderers and the onlookers who done nothing to help. Pray for Pakistan as Allah is showing his anger on the country , ppl of pakistan stand up against the ignorant mullahs and protect your minrities or soon you will burn in hell.

  33. Pakistanis should read the true history of Pakistan, who were the pioneers setting up a safe, pleasant, homely and best spot for worshiping the one and only God- Allah. Again are the Mullahs not ashamed of being termed " leaders of those who kill humans-more than one human being"? When their Holy Quran teaches against killing one human being, and no compulsion in religion. No wonder drones visit Pakistan. May Allah(swa) protect and save all minorities being oppressed for their beliefs- like Ahmadees, Christians, Hindus, Shias, etc Amin. I feel ashamed at what is going on in the Muslim world, especially those who termed themselves ' custodians' of the Muslim Ummaat who jubilate to prescribe and fund killers of the human race; but Alhamdou lillah I am not from that continent.

    ReplyDelete
  34. As a non Ahmadi all I can say is that these killers who call themselves Muslims should know that killing of even one person is like the killing of humanity.
    god bless

    ReplyDelete
  35. For God's sake, bring On the Humanity... Whoever Ahmadis are, no one has the right to take away their right of living a free life like other citizens of Pakistan.
Blasphemy law is being used by Pakistani extremists since long against Ahmadis and rarely against other minorities as well.
The respect and Ego of Islam and Islamic belongings is not much sensitive to be hurt by any person or sect. Hazrat Muhammad Peace be Upon Him always forgiven all those who disrespected Him and many times restricted His followers to take revenge from his enemies.
    So Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
If you people announce loudly to follow Hazrat Muhammad PBUH and His teachings, then also consider his behavior towards disrespectful people. He never took revenge but nowadays Mullah and extremists turn every issue in religious way and arouse the feelings of ignorant people to kill Ahmadis.
People who are silent watchers of this cruelty are also part of this shit in some way.
    Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Stop it now...

    ReplyDelete
  36. As a Shia I sympathize for the Ahmadi people. My question for these so called Muslims who use violence is if you are on the right path and claim to follow the Holy Prophet (pbuh) would he behave in such a way? It's shocking that they claim to be following the Sunnah.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Religion and life is Allah's property and no one Else's.

as Muslims we have an obligation to protect minorities.

no one has the right to take away someone's life...its just wrong and unforgivable.
