Perspective: Condemn killings at synagogue in Jerusalem | Letter - Huma Munir

The Palestinian attackers have no religion. They belong to no creed. Nowhere does it say in the Holy Quran, the Islamic scripture, that killing innocent people is justified.

Re: “Synagogue slaughter puts Israel on edge — Palestinian assailants are shot to death,” Wednesday news story.

The attack on a Jewish synagogue in Israel should be condemned in the strongest sense of the word. As a Muslim, I am appalled that two Palestinians went inside a sacred place of worship and attacked innocent civilians. The news is shocking and takes me back to May 28, 2010, when 86 Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan were attacked in a mosque by extremists. Like our Jewish brothers, they were also gathered to worship.

The Palestinian attackers have no religion. They belong to no creed. Nowhere does it say in the Holy Quran, the Islamic scripture, that killing innocent people is justified. In fact, the Quran says killing one person is like killing the entire mankind (5:32). At this grievous time, I urge Muslims around the world to speak against this senseless violence.
