The tragic attacks at a school in Pakistan last week distressed the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the fifth Khalifa, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad. During his Friday Sermon of December 19, he expressed his grief over the cowardly and heinous act by the Pakistani Taliban who murdered more than a hundred innocent children in cold blood.
“We Ahmadi Muslims sympathize and love humanity and so wherever mankind suffers in any way it leaves us grieved and pained. In this instance those killed were our fellow Muslim brothers and our countrymen and so our grief is even more. Our hearts are filled with love and compassion for them”, His Holiness remarked.
If only those known as Islamic religious leaders teaching extremism to uneducated Muslims would self-reflect. They could do the world a great favor if they unite to dispel all cruelty from the minds of ignorant Muslims. Those who commit suicide attacks and think they will gain the pleasure of God after death are certainly wrong. Nowadays extremism and cruelty in the name of God exist in almost every Muslim country. The endless reasons taking Muslim countries towards ruin draw the public into criminal acts.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) taught that each person should look at oneself every day to see how much compassion and good will one has for his brothers and sisters. It was this same message which was expounded by Promised Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian whose advent was foretold by Prophet Muhammad. The common purpose of the advent of all prophets is to establish true and real love of God and to instill the special importance of love for humanity and human rights. Until these are practiced all matters are merely ceremonial. It is time that everyone should heed the message of the Messiah who came to end wars and spread love.
