The 123rd international annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community concluded at its headquarters here on Sunday night.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the fifth Caliph, while addressing the convention, said that terrorism today had become a cause of fear and anxiety for the most of the people of the world. He said that he had no hesitation in admitting that much of the disorder in the world today was caused by the acts of certain “so-called Muslims” and this was a cause of great sorrow for any peace-loving Muslim who understands his faith.
“Over the past year, one particular group ISIS has viciously spread its network of terror and has become a cause of major concern for the world. They are defaming Islam with their heinous acts,” he added.
"Ahmadiyya community is subject to the hostile persecution and terrorism of such extremists. One more member of the Ahmadiyya community was murdered yesterday. The fact that all of this is being done in the name of Islam sincerely grieves and pains all true and peace loving Muslims because such brutal and inhumane ideologies have nothing to do with the religion whatsoever," he said while adding that Islam’s real teachings are of peace and security for all people.
He remarked that if we at the life and character of the Prophet Muhammad , it became clear that the early Muslims never initiated any war or violence. He said that if ever the Muslims took part in a war it was purely defensive and their only objective was to stop the oppressors from their cruelty and never to assert their own superiority or to resort to injustice.
"We needed to strengthen our bond with the Almighty Allah," Hazrat Ahmad said while addressing the followers of the faith through live and interactive telecast from London through the community’s channel Muslim Television Ahmadiyya. Nearly 20,000 delegates from 37 countries attended the convention. Millions of the people watched the satellite transmission of the convention via Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International.
Prior to the Caliph’s address, Inam Ghori, local head of the community, thanked the central government for visas to delegates from 37 countries.
