India: Old and young join hands for clean and green Hyderabad effort by Ahmadi Muslims
"This is not our first endeavour for cleanliness. We had organised similar programmes earlier at Fever Hospital, Osmania, Niloufer and Koti Maternity Hospitals. Our next location for the clean-up drive would be decided by the committee president."

HYDERABAD: ‘Love for all, hatred for none’, is the motto and cleanliness principle of the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, who dedicated their time to help build a clean, green city.
As many as 150 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, from children to senior citizens, participated in the DC Clean Drive campaign and cleaned up SBH Colony, Saidabad.
Musavir Ahmed, a member of the community, said “It took four hours for us to clean the public place. We preferred early hours and started at 6.30 am and ended by around 10.30 am.
The chosen area was a park and a community hall of SBH Colony. This site was selected through a survey conducted by the committee; since many visitors come there for walks and it is also a play area for children. It was essential for the surrounding to be clean."
As per the committee, the equipment required was funded by the members and they used two municipal trucks and six rickshaws to transport the waste. The members cleaned up a huge pile of mud which had been there for years together.
“This is not our first endeavour for cleanliness. We had organised similar programmes earlier at Fever Hospital, Osmania, Niloufer and Koti Maternity Hospitals. Our next location for the clean-up drive would be decided by the committee president.
We will continue to participate in this campaign and encourage citizens to participate and make the city clean. We thank Deccan Chronicle for this initiative,” added Zaheer Uddin, another participant.
