Ahmadi Muslims in the Ahmadiyya Mission’s Central West Region have held their first annual regional youth conference in Cape Coast to discuss religious tolerance.
Mr Hussein Muhammed Acquah, the Preacher Secretary in charge of the Ahmadiyya’s Southern Ghana area, said there was no need to poison the nation’s peace.
Over 1,000 Ahmadi youth gathered in Cape Coast to participate in the conference.
Mr Acquah said it was necessary to dispassionately discuss the issues and move forward.
Ultimately, he said, all should aim at living in peace and harmony with one another.
He admonished Muslim youth in particular to live above reproach, bearing in mind that Islam and its teachings entreated them to live in peace with all people.
The Central West Regional President of the organisation, Mr Sadique Bin Usman, called on all Ghanaians to do more to strengthen the peace in the country by their lifestyles, saying all must live what they preached.
The Cape Coast Metropolitan Police Crime Officer, Mr Kenneth Kuntogli, called on religious leaders to live exemplary lives to encourage their followers to do same.
The National President in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation, Mr Abdul Noor Wahab, advised Muslim youth to learn about other religions to be able to live in peace with all of them.
