India: Another Derwais, Mohammad Moosa passes away in Qadian


Derwaish Moosa was a recipient of the Medal of Honour from the British Queen for Excellence in Services for British Army.

Another Derwaish-e Qadian, Mohammad Moosa, passed away here in Qadian today.

He last breathed at the Noor Hospital Qadian about 3:30 PM local time. He was 90 years old.

Derwaish Muhammad Moos had suffered facial injuries last week when he was struck by a four-wheeler while was walking on foot to his home in the Ahmadiyya Mohalla.

He was first taken in the Noor Hospital in Qadian and later moved to the Guru Ram Das Hospital in Amritsar for additional medical care. However his condition deteriorated. He was brought back to Noor Hospital today where he died in the afternoon  .

Before the Indo-Pak partition in 1947, Derwaish Moosa was serving in the British Army but volunteered to come to Qadian to protect the holy places on the call of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community's spiritual leader at the time, Hazrat Mirza Bashir Uddin Mehmood Ahmad.

Moosa later resigned from the military service and stayed in Qadian for good.

Derwaish Moosa was a recipient of the Medal of Honour from the British Queen for Excellence in Services for British Army.

Mohammad Moosa is survived by three sons and two daughters.

He will be buried in Bahishti Maqbra Qadian.
