USA: Muslim Community Spokesperson React to Garland Shooting


"It obviously hurts on a personal level to see people displaying the profit of Islam in such a way. We want to champion free speech and promote it, but not when it puts others down."

BRYAN- Salman Munir says as a practicing Muslim he wasn't happy about the art exhibit in Garland featuring drawings of the Prophet Muhammad. He says the event incited hatred towards Muslims and sparked a terror attack.

Munir says he respects the right to free speech, even if he doesn't agree with what was said and shown at the event. "It obviously hurts on a personal level to see people displaying the profit of Islam in such a way. We want to champion free speech and promote it, but not when it puts others down."

Munir says the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community condemns the terror attack in which ISIS claimed responsibility.
