Children seem very happy and excited to partake in Sehri and Iftar rituals even though those who are not of age may not observe the full-day fast -- but many wants a taste of fasting.

In a recent article about the blessed month of Ramadan, Imam Shamshad Ahmad Nasir from the USA wrote, "God opens the door of Paradise and showers His blessings on anyone who strives for it." Imam Shamshad quoted the Holy Founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad as saying: "Paradise is decorated to welcome each Ramadan from the end of one Ramadan to the beginning of next one.”

Every year during the month of Ramadan, the environment in the town of Qadian becomes paradise-like.

There are ten Mosques in Qadian where special arrangements are in place to offer Salatul-Taraveeh, the special supererogatory prayers usually offered in the late evening during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

A large numbers of Ahmadi Muslim men and women come daily to the different mosques of Qadian to offer the Taraveeh prayers.

Meanwhile, shopkeepers have made special arrangements for Iftar (breaking the fast at sunset) in Mohalla Ahmadiyya area of Qadian offering varieties of foods and delicacies.

At the time of Sehri (the morning meal after which the fast starts) Ahmadi youths walk the streets reciting the Holy Quran and invoking Drood (salutations of peace for the Holy founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad) to alarm the residents that Sehri time has begun.

Children seem very happy and excited to partake in Sehri and Iftar rituals even though those who are not of age may not observe the full-day fast -- but many want a taste of fasting.

One such child is Haniya Mansoor, a young Ahmadi Muslim girl from Qadian, who says she observed her first fast on Friday.

"I had a very good experience," she said, adding, “I am 7 Years old and it was my wish to experience fasting, which was fulfilled on Friday."

"I was feeling very thirsty due to hot weather, but Alhamdo-Lillah, Allah gave me patience and I was successful in completing my fast.”

Qadian is the birthplace of Islam-Ahmadiyya, which is now the largest organized Muslim community in the world. Islam Ahmadiyya is established in more than 205 countries and territories with more than 160 million adherents who pledges allegiance to the Khalifa of Islam, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Supreme Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at.
