'Kashmir separatist leader’s statements regarding Ahmadiyya Muslim Community are against the teachings of Islam' -- Ibrahim Shah

Qadian/Srinagar: Ahmadis are true Muslims and they are following the true teachings of Islam, but some Kashmiri separatist leaders and mullahs don't want the Muslims to know the real Islam.

These sentiments came from the local Ahmadiyya leadership when Srinagar administration disallowed the Ahmadiyya Peace Conference which was scheduled in Srinagar, Jummu & Kashmir.

Ibrahim Shah, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamat Srinagar, had submitted to the administration that Ahmadiyya Jamaat organizes similar Peace Conferences across the world including India wherein their message to the people is “Love for All, Hatred For None”.

Several local Muslims leaders disclosed on the condition of anonymity that the Kashmir Police, local intelligence agencies and many regional security agencies had given the green light for the Ahmadiyya Peace Conference to go forward but a high level officer -- who is close to separatist leaders and extremist clerics wanting to incite anti-Ahmadiyya sentiments similar to those in Pakistan -- leaked the file to the media where Ahmadiyya Muslims had sought the permission for the peace conference.

Following the disclosure, several known extremist clerics and separatist leaders, including Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, went on record denouncing the Ahmadiyya Muslim community for organizing the "Peace Symposium."

"Earlier, Christian Missionaries were trying to spread their tentacles in Kashmir by offering monetary benefits and now it was Ahmadis who want to do the same," Farooq explained to his followers during a sermon, accoring to local Kashmir media.

"We are not against any religion and all are free to propagate their faith, but Mirzaiees (Ahmadis) refer to themselves as Muslims to tarnish the image of Islam, which will not be tolerated," Farooq had added.

The Ahmadiyya leader, Ibrahim Shah, rejected the claims made by separatist leader saying that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community presents the true teachings of Islam and spreads the Islamic message of peace throughout the world.
