USA: Chino's Baitul Hameed Mosque hosts Faith Roundtable Conference with Congresswoman, Norma J. Torres


The conference produced a productive discussion and very valuable points and inputs were provided by nearly all the attendees.

Chino's Ahmadiyya Muslim Baitul Hameed Mosque hosted a 'Faith Roundtable Conference' yesterday on the topic: “How to address violence, bullying and peer pressure affecting the young people in our community”.

The conference was organized by Congresswoman, Norma J. Torres who represents California's 35th District which includes Bloomington, Chino, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona and Rialto.

Congresswoman Torres reaches out to different faith groups and regularly holds interfaith conferences in her constituency. During one such meeting she was invited by Imam of the Chino's Baitul Hameed Mosque, Mohammed Zafarullah, and  President of the LA-Inland chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Mr Asim Ansari, to visit and hold her next meeting at the Ahmadiyya Baitul Hameed Mosque. The invitation was accepted by Congresswoman Torres.

Congresswoman Torres arrived at the Baitul Hameed Mosque with her staff and different faith leaders and local members were invited for the  Roundtable Conference.

Imam Mohammed Zafarullah welcomed the attendees when the conference started at 10:00 AM.

The meeting which lasted for about two hours, covered how to work together to better coordinate the services different faith based organization provide and are there federal Programs that need to be changed that would improve the service different faith provide?

The conference produced a productive discussion and very valuable points and inputs were provided by nearly all the attendees.

In the end Imam Mohammed Zafarullah closed the meeting with a prayer, quoting verse 74 fron the 25 chapter of the Holy Quran:
"Our Lord grant us of our mates and children the delight of our eyes, and make us a model for the righteous."

Later,some light refreshment was served to all the guests and afterward Congresswoman and other ladies visited woman's wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the members were present to welcome the guests.
