JHELUM: A four-member committee has been set up to probe the arson attack on a factory owned by a member of the Ahmadiyya community in Jhelum.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, who heads the committee, has said that the government will not let anyone take the law into their hands. “Inciting people to violence through mosque loudspeakers is an act against the sanctity of a place of worship…the government will not tolerate such activities,” he said.
The provincial law minister, Punjab Home Secretary Azam Sulaiman, IG Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera and Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed were briefed by the factory management on the incident.
Sanaullah said that the government is looking at the incident from different angles. He said the courts will decide the punishment to be handed down to those responsible.
He said that the government took all the necessary measures to defuse the tensions.
